Founder, owner, and Managing Director of Virtual Linguistic Solutions (VLS) and Organic Trade & Investments (OTI); Esther Asante, was awarded the “Best Female eCommerce Entrepreneur of the year” at the Ghana maiden eCommerce Awards, at Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel, Accra on November 2018, making her the first woman to ever be honored with such an award in the history of the Ghana eCommerce Awards, organized by OML Africa.
“That makes it two awards in one night! I am speechless. I wasn’t expecting this, honestly,” Asante commented.

Earlier in the evening, her newly launched company; Organic Trade & Investments (OTI) received the “Best New Online Retailer of the year” award.
Asante was competing with 6 other outstanding female entrepreneurs and owner-managers for the prize of “Best Female eCommerce Entrepreneur of the year” on the basis of inspiring entrepreneurial spirit, value creation, strategic direction, national and global impact, and promoting innovation, personal integrity, and purpose-driven leadership.

As the organizers noted, the “Best Female eCommerce Entrepreneur” aims at recognizing “the most exceptional among a unique group of people who have made and continue to make strides in doing business online in Ghana. The nominee must be a female, resident in Ghana and who is an owner-manager of a private or public company, primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company and has been an active member of senior management for at least a year.”
Asante established her first online business; Virtual Linguistic Solutions in 2009 after working with several international companies.
